ORDINANCE No. 9132
AN ORDINANCE CREATING A COMMISSION TO BE KNOWN AS THE
DUNBAR COMMUNITY CENTER COMMISSION, NAMING MEMBERS
THEREOF, DESCRIBING THEIR DUTIES, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. There is hereby created in accordance with Act 355
of the General Assembly of the State of Arkansas for 1939 a Community
Center Commission for the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, to be known
ss the "Dunbar Co etnity Center "Commission. Said Commission sh*11
be an honorary commission composed of five (5) members, and shall
hold office for a term of years as follows:
Sad"-- Thompson 1 year
J. C. Crenshaw 2 years
Dr. G. W. S. Ish 3 years
Dr. H. A. Powell 4 years
John A. Hibbler 5 years
Upon the occurrence of a vacancy in said Commission either by expiration
of the term or otherwise said vacancy shall be filled by an appointment
by the Mayor subject to the approval of the majority vote of the City
Council.
SECTION 2. The said Dunbar Community Center Commission is
hereby vested with all power and authority as provided by the laws of the
State of Arkansas and charged with all duties imposed thereby in the
management and operation of said community center.
SECTION 3. Said Commission shall organize by the election of
one of its members as Chairman, one as Secretary and one as Treasurer.
Any =*tuber of the - Commission may serve as both Secretary _mod rarer

SECTION 4. If a new name for this Commission is desired, it
may be changed by the new Commission subject to approval of three -
fourths (3/4s) of the City Council and the Mayor.
SECTION 5. Unless the provisions of this ordinance are put
into effect immediately, the peace, health and safety of the citizens
of the City of Kittle Rock will be adversely affected. Therefore, an
emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in
full force and effect from and after its passage.
