AN ORDINANCE DIRECTING THAT A BUILDING LOCATED AT
707 EAST CAPITOL AVENUE ON PROPERTY PURCHASED FOR
THE ERECTION OF A FIRE STATION BE DISMANTLED BY THE
PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION AND THE MATERIAL
OBTAINED THEREFROM USED BY SAID COMMISSION, REPEAL-
ING ORDINANCE NO. 9180, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS Ordinance No. 9180 authorized the Board of
p, .,M,Zublde. Affairs to take bids for the wrecking of a building
located at 707 East Capitol Avenue, which property was purchased
for use by the Fire Department of the City of Little Rock, and
WHEREAS the best bid received by the Board of Public
Affairs for wrecking said building was unsatisfactory, and
WHEREAS the Parks and Recreation Commission can
dismantle the building and use the salvage therefrom;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 9180 is hereby repealed
in its entirety.
SECTION 2. That the Parks and Recreation Commission is
hereby directed to dismantle the building located at 707 East
Capitol Avenue, which property was purchased for the erection of
a fire station thereon, and to use the salvage for the benefit of
the City wherever it is possible to do so.
SECTION 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed, and it being necessary
that a building be erected for the Fire Department on the site
5tx' chased as soon as possible to provide for the safety of the
people of Little Rock, an emergency is hereby declared to exist
and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately
upon its passage and approval.
