HomeMy WebLinkAbout9278ORDINANCE NO. 9278 AN ORDINANCE DIRECTING THE CITY A TTORN EYIS OFFICE TO BRING CONDEMNATION PROCEL-DINGS AGAINST THE SOUTH HALF OF LOT 122 BLOCK 1, THE SOUTH HALF OF LOT 13, BLOCK 1, THE SOUTH HALF OF LOT 12, BLOCK 2, AND THE SOUTH HALF OF LOT 13, BLOCK 2, STRONG AND WATERS ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, TO BE USED BY THE CITY FOR 1rdIDENING MARKHAM STREL T, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF'LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. The City Attorney's office is hereby directed to bring proceedings for the condemnation of the South Half of Lot 12, Block 1, the South Half of Lot 13, Block 11 the South Half of Lot 12, Block 2, and the South Half of Lot 13, Block 2, all in Strong and Waters Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas. This property is described as follows: The South Half of Lot 12, Block 1, Strong and Waters Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, owned by Bush Binley; The South Half of Lot 13, Block 1, Strong and Waters Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, owned by Mrs. H. E. Rouse; The South Half of Lot 12, Block 2, Strong and Maters Addition to the city of Little Rock, Arkansas, owned by Dr. Paul L. Mahoney; The South Half of Lot 13, Block 2, Strong and Maters Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, owned by E. Nelson. The above property is necessary for the widening of Markham Street. SECTION 2. The City Attorney's office is further directed to secure a court order allowing the City to take immediate possession of the aforesaid property upon its posting bond in an amount to be determined by the Court. The City Attorney's office is further authorized to have posted on behalf of the City a bond in the amount -2 determined by the Court pending determination of the condemnation proceedings. SECTION 3. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed, and it being necessary for the safety of the citizens of Little Rock, Arkansas, that Markham Street be widened to reduce traffic hazards, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage and approval.
