AN ORDINANCE TO CREATE FOUR ADDITIONAL POSITIONS OF
CAPTAIN, SIX ADDITIONAL POSITIONS OF DRIVER AND NINE
ADDITIONAL POSITIONS OF HOSEMAN IN THE LITTLE ROCK FIRE
DEPARTMENT, ESTABLISHING THE SALARIES THEREFOR, AMENDING
SECTION 10 OF ORDINANCE 9006, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That there are hereby created four (4) additional positions
of Captain, Six (6) additional positions of Driver and Nine (9) additional positions

of Hoseman in the Little Rock Fire Department. The salaries for said positions shall
be in accord with the provisions of Ordinance No. 9006.
SECTION 2. That that part of Section 10 of Ordinance No. 9006 which refers
to the above positions be hereby amended to read as follows:

SECTION 3. These positions of employment are needed to properly man the
new Fire Stations now nearing completion and unless the provisions of this ordinance
are put into effect immediately, the public peace, health and safety of the Citizens
of Little Rock will be adversely affected; therefore, an emergency is hereby declared
to exist, and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after January 1,
1954.
