ORDINANCE NO. _ 9
AN ORDINANCE ORDERING THE REMOVAL AND RAZING OF
SAID BUILDINGS, HOUSES, AND OTHER STRUCTURES IN
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK: DIRECTING THE CITY
ATTORNEY TO TAKE SUCH ACTION AS IS NECESSARY TO
ACCOMPLISH THE RESULTS DESIRED BY THIS ORDINANCE,
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, In many parts of the City of Little Rock owners
of real property have allowed such property to
become run down, dilapidated, unsafe, unsightly,
dangerous, obnoxious, and detrimental to the
public welfare of the citizens of the City of
Little Rock, and
WHEREAS, The condition of this property is a serious fire
hazard and that, unless immediate action is
taken to remedy this situation, there is a great
likelihood that the surrounding property will be
destroyed by fire originating in such unsafe and
hazardous structures,
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That the owner of the following described prop-
erty be and he is hereby ordered to remove or raze the buildings
upon said property within 30 days from the date of effect of
this ordinance:

SECTION 2. The City Attorney is hereby directed to insti-
tute such legal proceedings against such persons as may be nec-
essary in order to enforce the provisions of this ordinance,
and to remedy the dangerous and unsightly conditions brought
about as a result of the failure of the owner to properly keep
up said property.
SECTION 3. All persons, firms, corporations violating the
provisions of this ordinance shall upon conviction thereof be
fined in any sum not less than $25.00, nor more than $100.00.

SECTION 4. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed and, unless the provi-
sions of this ordinance are put into effect immediately, the
public peace, health and safety of the people of Little Rock
will be adversely affected, therefore an emergency is hereby
declared to exist, and this ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage and approval.
