AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND ABANDONING AN ALLEY IN BLOCK
4 OF PFEIFERIS ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, a petition was duly filed with the City Council
of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, on the 26 day of July, 1954,
asking the City Council to vacate and abandon the entire alley located
in Block 4, PFEIFER'S ADDITION to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas,
said alley being designated on the plat in Plat Book 1 at Page 64,
in the Office of the Recorder of Pulaski County, Arkaz sa s .
WHEREAS, after due notices as required by law, the Council
has, at the time and place mentioned in the notice, heard all persons
desiring to be heard on the question and has ascertained that the
alley hereinbefore described, has heretofore been dedicated to the
public use as an alley herein described; has not been actually used
by the public generally for a period of at least five years, sub-
sequent to the filing of the plat and prior to the filing of the
petition requesting this ordinance; that all of the owners of the
property abutting upon the portion of the alley to be vacated have
filed with the Council their written consent to such abandonment;
and that public interest and welfare will not be adversely affected
by the abandonment of such alley.
NOW, THEREFORE., BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City of Little Rock, Arkansas, hereby re-
leases, vacates and abandons all its rights, together with the rights
of the public generally, except for the preservation of an easement
for the rights and needs of public utilities for ingress and egress
to maintain presently existing lines over and in said area, in and to

The alley being located completely within Block 4, PFEIFER'S
ADDITION to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, said alley
being bounded and running East and West between "B" Street
(named on the original 1907 plat as Rosa Street, and which
has since been renamed "B" Street) and "C" Street (named on
the original 1907 plat as Eleanor Street, and which has
since been renamed "C" Street) with North Van Buren Street
(named on the original 1907 plat as Maple Street, and which

has since been renamed North Van Buren Street) on the
West and North Jackson Street (named on the original
1907 plat as Cherry Street, and which has since been
renamed North Jackson Street) on the East.
SECTION 2. A copy of the ordinance duly certified by
the City Clerk shall be filed in the office of the Recorder of
Pulaski County, Arkansas, and recorded in the deed records of the
County.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage.
