HomeMy WebLinkAbout9653ORDINANCE NO. 9653 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 9610, TO PRO- VIDE FOR AN ANNUAL ASSESSMENT OF SEVEN PER CENT INSTEAD OF TEN PER CENT IN STREET IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 602.OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK. WHEREAS *, Ordinance No. 9610 provided that ten per cent (10%) of the assessment of each of the blocks, lots and parcels of real property in Street Improvement District No. 602 of Little Rock, Arkansas should be collected with the first installment of general taxes becoming due in 1955 and annually thereafter; and WHEREAS the lowest bid submitted by a responsible contractor for the performance of the work is less than the estimate; and WHEREAS1it now appears that an annual collection of seven per cent (7 %) of the assessment will provide sufficient funds; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas: SECTION 1. That Section 1 of Ordinance No. 9610 passed and approved on the 16th day of August, 195+ be, and the same is hereby, amended to read as follows: "That the several blocks, lots and parcels of real property in said District be assessed according to the assessment list for said Improvement District as the same now remains in the office of the City Clerk, and that seven per cent (7 %) of the assess- ment of each of said blocks, lots and parcels shall be collected by the County Collector with the first installment of the general taxes becoming due in 1955 and annually thereafter with the first install- ment of the general taxes until the whole of said local assessment shall be paid ". SECTION 2. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage. PASSED:September 27 , 1954.
