AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND ABANDONING A PORTION OF AN
ALLEY IN BLOCK 8 OF RUSSELL'S ADDITION TO THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, AND ORDERING A COPY OF THIS
ORDINANCE FILED WITH THE CIRCUIT CLERK OF PULASKI
COUNTY, ARKANSAS.
WHEREAS, a petition was duly filed with the City Council
of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, on the 20th day of December,
1954, petitioning the said Council to vacate and abandon all that
portion of the north and south alley in Block 8 of Russell's Ad-
dition to the City of Little Rock as hereinafter defined; and
WHEREAS, after due notice as required by law, the City Council
has, at the time and place mentioned in the notice, heard all persons
desiring to be heard on the question and has ascertained that the
portion of said alley hereinafter described has heretofore been
dedicated to public use as an alley; has not been actually used by
the public generally for a period of at least five years subsequent
to the filing of the plat of said Addition; that all of the property
abutting upon said portion of said alley to be vacated is owned by
two persons and said owners have filed with the Council their written
consent to said abandonment and have signed the petition for said
abandonment; and that the public interest and welfare will not be
adversely affected by the abandonment of said portion of said alley;
now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Little Rock,
Arkansas:
SECTION 1. The City of Little Rock, Arkansas, hereby re-
leases, vacates and abandons all its rights, together with the rights
of the public generally, in and to the following part of the fol-
lowing alley in the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, to -wit:
That part of the north and south alley
in Block 8 of Russell's Addition to the
City of Little Rock, Arkansas, extending
from a point 57.7 feet north of the south
line of said block to the south line of
the Missouri Pacific Railway right -of -way,
as shown and designated on the plat of
RUSSELL'S ADDITION to said City now ap-
pearing of record in Plat Book M2, page 633,
in the office of the Circuit Clerk and ex
officio Recorder of Pulaski County, Arkansas.

SECTION 2. A copy of this ordinance duly certified by the
City Clerk of this City shall be filed in the office of the Circuit
Clerk and ex officio Recorder of Pulaski County, Arkansas, and
recorded in the deed records of said County.
SECTION 3• This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage.
