AN ORDINANCE APPROVING REVISED RATE SCHEDULE N0. 4
OF THE LITTLE RACK MUNICIPAL WATER WORKS OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE RACK; FIXING THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF
SCHEDULE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSM.
Wes, the Board. of Water Works Commissioners, of the City of
Little Rock, has by proper resolution approved a rate revision to produce
approximately $700,000.00 additional annual revenue from water sales in
order to finance necessary expansion of water system facilities to guarantee
continuous and uninterrupted water service to the citizens of Little Rock,
and other customers, and has approved a new schedule of rates to become
effective on the first day of the first calendar month which commences
thirty (30) days after enactment of this ordinance, and has presented to the
Mayor and the City Council of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, a copy of
said schedule of rates with the request that the City Council make said new
schedule of rates effective, and

the proposed rate increase are necessary for the purpose aforesaid and that
the proposed rates for each type classification and quantum of service are
fair and nondiscriminatory.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That the following schedule of rates be and thevsame
is hereby established and approved.

APPLICATION.
This schedule is applicable* to all water and water service
supplied by the Little Rock Municipal Water Works from and after the
effective date hereof.
*This schedule does not apply to special service contracts.
METER MEASDRE)M .
All water and water service supplied by the Little Rock Municipal
Water Works shall be measured through meters, except that used from Fire
Hydrants for the prevention and extinguishment of fires, and that reasonably
necessary for flushing of streets and sewers, testing of fire hydrants, and
practice of city firemen.
RATESs
INSIDE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK
METERED SERVICE
Subject to the meter minima and penalties hereinafter set out,
the following rates shall apply to all measured water service, for custe-
mars residing within the Corporate Limits of the City of Little Rock.
NOTE; --One cubic foot of water is equivalent to 7z gallons weighing 62J
pounds avoirdupois.
All water used by the City of Little Rock and not included in the
water furnished under the Public Fire Service Clause hereof shall be metered
and paid for at the rate of 6.75¢ per hundred cubic feet, and shall not be
subject to the meter minima.

PUBLIC FIRE SERVICE
The City of Little Rock shall pay to the Little Rock Municipal water
Works for the privilege of taking water from fire hydrants for the prevention
and extinguishment of fires, and that reasonably necessary for the flushing of
streets, and sewers, testing fire hydrants, and the practice of City firemen, a
fire hydrant rental of $23.33per hydrant per year.
OUTSIDE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK
and
NORTH LITTLE ROCK WATER COMPANY
METEREE SERVICE
Subject to the meter minima and penalties hereinafter set cut, the
following rates shall apply to all measured water service for customers residing
outside the corporate limits of the City of Little Rock and for the North Little
Rock Water Company.

For the next 30,000 cubic feet per month,
or any part thereof 35 cents
For the next 90,000 cubic feet per month,
or any part thereof 25 cents
For the excess of

NOTE: --One cubic foot of water is equivalent to 7* gallons weighing 6*
pounds avoirdupois.

PRIVATE FIRE SERVICE - OUTSIDE CITY
Private fire service connections for private premises outside the City
limits shall pair the following fire service charges:
Automatic Sprinkler System - 12000 heads or less

PAYMENT.
BILLING
All bills shall be computed and rendered monthly.
Payments for private fire service are to be made in equal semi - annual
installments in advance on the first day of January and july,
All annual rates for public fire service shall be payable in twelve
monthly installments by the City of Little Rock on or before the twentieth (20th)
day of each month for service furnished the preceding month.
PENALTY AND DISCONTINUANCE OF SERVICE
Where water bills are not paid before the twentieth (20th) daffy following
the original date of billing, a ten per (10%) penalty shall be added to the
original bill. If the bills are not paid within thirty days from rendition,
service shall be disconnected from the water system.
EM CTIVB DATE OF SCHEDULE.
This schedule shall become effective on all billings on the first
day of the first calendar month which begins thirty (30) days after Council
approval.
SECTION 2. That all ordinances, parts of ordinances, establishing
rate schedules for water or water service, supplied or to be supplied, by the
City of Little Rock through its municipal water works system, be and the
same are hereby repealed, set aside and held for naught.
SECTION 3. If any portion of this ordinance is for any reason held
to be unconstitutional or invalid, such holding shall not affect the validity
