ORDINANCE NO. 9801
AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRIT
TO THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSASt
SECTION 1. It is hereby recognized that a majority of the rea
estate owners of a tract of land contiguous and adjoining the City
of Little Rock, Arkansas, duly petitioned the County Court of Pulas-
ki County, Arkansas, that their property be annexed to the City of
Little Roekp and that after publication of notice of the hearing on
said petition and other formalities required by the Statutes of
Arkansas a hearing was held and the County Court of Pulaski County
made a finding that all requirements for annexation had been met and on
,:March 8, 1955, entered an order annexing to the City of Little Roc
the lands described in this ordinance; and that no proceeding was i -
stituted in the Circuit Court of Pulaski County to prevent the anne -
ation within thirty days from the date of the order of the County
Court of Pulaski County.
SECTION 2. The City of Little Rock, Arkansas, pursuant to the
statutes of Arkansas, does hereby accept the said - annexation and
the following described lands are hereby annexed to the City of
Little Rock:
Begin at a point on the present City limit line of Little Rock,
said point being the intersection of the North line of West
32nd Street and the center line of Hayes Street;
Run thence South along the center line of Hayes Street to a
point where the said center line intersects the South line of
the SEJ of the NEJ of Section 13, Township 1 North, Range 13
West; -
Run thence West along the said South line of the SEJ of the
NSJ to the Southwest corner of said quarter section;
Run thence North along the West line of the said SE4 of the
NE* to the Northwest corner,of said quarter section;
Run thence West along the North line of the SW-J of the NEJ of
Section 13, Township 1 North, Range 13 West, to a point where
said line is intersected by the West line of Virginia Street
(as platted in Hamilton & Braekts Addition);
Run thence North along the West line of Virginia street to a
point where said line intersects the center line of West 29th
Street;

Run thence East along the center line of West 29th Street to
a point where said line is intersected by the center line
of Hamilton Street (now Belle Meade Drive);
Run thence South along the Center line of Hamilton Street to
a point where said line is intersected by the center line of
West 30th Street;
Run thence East along the center line of West 30th Street (as
extended) to the Past line of Garfield Street, said point bei
on the'present City limit lime of Little Rock;
Run thence South along the East line of Garfield Street, said
line being the boundary of Broadmoor Addition, to a point whe
said line intersects the North line of West 32nd Street;
Run thence East along the North line of West 32nd Street to
point of beginning.
The above described property includes the SE-41 of the NE4 of
Section 13, Township 1 North, Range 13 West,,and Blocks -7, 9,
10, 15 and 16, of Hamilton & Brackts Addition to Pulaski
County, Arkansas,
SECTION 3. It appearing that the residents in the area hereby
annexed are suffering serious hardship and inconvenience because
they are deprived of the services provided by the City of Little Roc
in order to preserve the peace, health and safety of the people of
the City of Little Rock, an emergency is hereby declared and this
ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its pas-
sage.
