HomeMy WebLinkAbout9990a _ -4 ORDINANCE NNO. 9990 AN ORDINANCE TO VACATE AND ABANDON A PORTION OF EAST TWENTIETH STREET RUNNING EAST AND 'NEST BETNEEN THE EAST HALF OF BLOCKS 18 AND 23 OF BRAGG'S SECOND ADDI- TION TO THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS WHEREAS, a petition was duly filed with the City Council of Little Rock, Arkansas, on the day of December, 1955, asking the City Council to vacate and abandon a portion of East Twentieth Street running East and West between the East Half of Blocks 18 and $3 of Bragg's Second Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, now appearing in Plat Book 2, Page 44. WHEREAS, after due notice as required by law, the Council has, at the time and place mentioned in the notice, heard allpersons desiring to be heard on the question and has ascertained that the street, hereinabove described, has heretofore been dedicated to the public use, and has not been used by the public generally for a period of at least five years subsequent to the filing of the plat; that the owners of all the property abutting upon the portion of the street to be vacated have filed with the Council their written consent to such abandonment; and that the public interest and welfare will not be adversely affected by the abandonment of such portion of the said street. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. The City of Little Rock, Arkansas, hereby releases, vacates and abandons all its rights, together with the rights of the public generally, in and to that portion of the street designated as follows: Beginning at the Northeast corner of said Block 23, thence run West along the North line thereof 142.67 feet to the East line of an alley running North and South through said Block 23, thence run North 40 feet to the Southwest corner of Lot 7, Block 18 of said addition, thence run East along the South line of said Lot 7 to the Southeast corner thereof, thence South to point of beginning. IF — 2 — SECTION 2. A copy of this ordinance duly certified by the City Clerk shall be filed in the Office of the Reca'der of Pulaski County. SECTION 3.
