SECTIOV 1. Ordinance No. 9875 is hereby repealed in its
entirety.
SECTION 2. That the Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby
authorized and requested to execute and enter into an agreement
with the County Judge of Pulaski County, Arkansas, whereby the
County Judge shall remove the Pulaski County Jail from its
present location to a new location provided and furnished by
the City of Little Rock in Block 186, Original City of Little
Rock, and the City of Little Rock further agreeing to pay all
of the cost of removing the Jail to the new location up to, but
not exceeding, the sum of $358,2k_9.50.

This Agreement entered into this _ day of August, 1955,
by and between the County Judge of Pulaski County, Arkansas, and
the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, under the authority of
Ordinance No. of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas,
passed August 15, 1955, and approved August , 1955, for the
purpose of clearing the right -of -way for the Riverfront Drive
by removing the Pulaski County Jail from its present location
to a new location in Block 186, Original City of Little Rock,
WITNESSETH:
1. It is a`reed that the County Judge of Pulaski County,

Arkansas, shall be the contracting Agent to obtain a contract
for the removal of the Pulaski County Jail Building from its
present location to a new location in Block 186, Original City
of Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas.
2. It is further agreed that the City of Little Rock
shall bear all of the cost of removing the Jail from its present
location to the new location, and furnish the new site for the
new location.
3. The City of Little Rock agrees to deposit in escrow
in the First National Bank _`°
, Little Rock, Arkansas,
a sum of money equal to the amount of the lowest reliable bid up
to, but not to exceed, the surrl of ,358,289.50, including the fee
of the architect for the project to be used as the cost of removing
the jail to the new location. The funds shall be withdrawn upon
the order of said bank
with the approval of the
County Judge of Pulaski County, Arkansas, and the Board of Public
Affairs of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas.
In addition to paying the expense of removing the jail,
the City of Little Rock agrees to execute a warranty deed of
conveyance to Pulaski County, Arkansas of the following lands
in Pulaski County, Arkansas, to -wit:
A part of Block 186, Original City of Little Rock, more
particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the point on the East line of Block 186,
Original City of Little Rock, which is 143 feet worth of the
Southeast corner of Block 186, thence South along the East
line of Block 186 a distance of 25.3 feet; thence on a
deflection angle of 100 decrees 43 minutes to the right a
distance of 5�.9 feet; thence on a deflection angle of 90
degrees 00 minutes to the left a distance of 20 feet; thence
on a deflection angle of 90 degrees 00 minutes to the right a
distance of 110 feet; thence on a deflection angle of 90
degrees 00 minutes to the right a distance of 42.7 feet;
thence on a deflection angle of 89 degrees 13 minutes to the
right a distance of 164.3 feet to the point of beginning,
containing 5,052 square feet; more or less. AND
A part of Block 186, Original City of Little Rock, described as:
Beginning at a point on the West line of Block 186, Original
City of Little Rock, which is 196 feet North of the Southwest
corner of Block 186; thence in a straight line a distance of
305.2 feet to the point on the East line of Block 186, which
is 143 feet north of the Southeast corner of Block 186; thence
North along the East line of Block 186 a distance of 19.02 feet;
thence on a deflection angle of �4 degrees 46 minutes to the
left, a distance of 50.65 feet; thence on a deflection angle
of 7 degrees 21 minutes to the left, a distance of 110.25 feet;
thence on a deflection angle of 5 degrees 44 minutes to the
left, a distance of 142.54 feet to the point of beginning;
containing 4,869 square feet, more or less; AND
A part of the Fractional Northeast Quarter of Section Three (3),

in Township One (1),North, Range Twelve (12) West, described as
follows:
Beginning at the point on the East line of Spring Street
which is 106.35 feet North of the North line of Garland
Avenue; thence Southeasterly in a straight line to the
point on the Northerly extension of the East line of Conway
Street, which is 72.22 feet North of the North line of
Garland Avenue; thence North along the Northerly extension
of the East line of Conway Street, a distance of 9.59 feet
to the South right -of -way line of the Missouri Pacific
Railroad Company; thence Northwestwardly along the South
right -of -way line of the Missouri Pacific Railroad Company*
to the East line of Spring Street; thence South along the
East line of Spring Street a distance of 42.3 feet to the
point of beginning.
4. The County Judge of Pulaski County, Arkansas agrees
to remove that part of the County Jail, commonly called the
"Stockade ", and to commence work on removing same on or before
the date of notice to the contractor to proceed to relocate the
main building of the Pulaski County Jail.
5. This Agreement is executed by the Mayor and City Clerk,
respectively, for the City of Little Rock pursuant to the authority
contained under the above - mentioned Ordinance No. of
the City Council of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed
August 15, 1955, m d approved August `, 1955 •

SECTION 2. That all ordinances and parts of ordinances

be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
