HomeMy WebLinkAbout10061ORDINANCE NO. 10,061 AN ORDINANCE ORDERING THE REMOVAL AND RAZING OF SAID BUILDINGS LOCATED AT 918- 920- 922 -924 -926 AND 928 WEST 7TH STREET, DESCRIBED AS PARTS OF LOTS 4, 5 AND 6, BLOCK 2509 ORIGINAL CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, PULASKI COUNTY, ARKANSAS; DIRECTING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO TAKE SUCH ACTION AS IS NECESSARY TO ACCOMPLISH THE RESULTS DESIRED BY THIS ORDINANCE; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, property at 918- 920 - 922 -924 -926 and 928 West 7th Street, described as parts of Lots 4, 5 and 6, Block 250, ORIGINAL CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, Pulaski County, Arkansas, has been allowed to become run down, dilapidated, unsafe, unsightly, dangerous, obnoxious, and detrimental to the public welfare of the citizens of the City of Little Rock; and WHEREAS, the condition of this property is a serious fire, health, and structural hazard and that, unless immediate action is taken to remedy this situation, there is a great likelihood that the surrounding property will be destroyed by fire origi- nating in such unsafe and hazardous structures or that the buildings will collapse on .tenants occupying said structures, and it is also dangerous to the health and safety of the citi- zens of Little Rock. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. That the owner, Mrs. Kate C. Beardsles, 603 West 6th Street, Little Rock, Arkansas, of the following de- scribed property be and the buildings upon said of effect of this ordin, STREET ADDRESS 918 - 920 - 922 -924 -926 and 928 West 7th Street she is hereby ordered to remove or raze property within 10 days from the date once: LEGAL DESCRIPTION Parts of Lots 4, 5 and 6. Block 250, ORIGINAL CITY OF LITTLE ROCK. SECTION 2. That the City Attorney is hereby directed to institute such legal proceedings against such persons as may be necessary in order to enforce the provisions of this ordinance, and to remedy the dangerous and unsightly conditions brought about as a result of failure of the owner to properly keep up the property. r • r� �-a SECTION 3. That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed and, unless the pro- visions of this ordinance are put into effect immediately, the public peace, health and safety of the citizens of Little Rock will be adversely affected; therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
