HomeMy WebLinkAbout10105ORDINANCE NO. 10,105 AN ORDINANCE ASSESSING THE VALUE OF BENEFITS TO BE RECEIVED BY THE OWNERS OF EACH OF THE SEVERAL BLOCKS, LOTS, AND PARCELS OF LAND WITHIN STREET IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 609 OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS. WHEREAS, more than two - thirds in value of the property holders owning property adjoining the locality to be affected and situated in Street Improvement District No. 609 of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, organized for the purpose of making local improvements therein by grading, draining, and hard surfacing the following street: nB« Street from the east line of Hayes Street to the west line of Pierce Street, in the manner and of the materials that the Commissioners of said District shall deem for the best interest of the District, have petitioned the City Council of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, for the construction of said improvements, and that the costs thereof shall be assessed upon the real property in the said District according to the benefits received; and WHEREAS, said benefits received from each and every block, lot and parcel of real property situated in said District equals or exceeds the local assessment thereon; and WHEREAS, the estimated cost of said improvement is $8,965.40 to be assessed and charged upon the real property of the District according to the benefits received; and the assessed benefits amount to $13,385.00: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY-OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: Section 1. That the said several blocks, lots and parcels of real property in said Street Improvement District No. 609 be and they are hereby assessed according to the assessment list of said improvement district asthe same now remains in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, and that the same may be annually readjusted by the Board of Assessors, and that six and two - thirds per centum (6 -2/3/) of the assessment of each of said blocks, lots and parcels shall be collected by the County Collector on or before the 15th day of June, 19562 and six and two - thirds per centum (6 -2/3 %) of the assessment shall be collected with the first installment of general taxes becoming due in the year 1957, and six and two - thirds per centum (6 -2/3 %) shall be col- lected annually thereafter with the first installment of general taxes until the whole of said local assessment shall have been paid. Section 2. That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed, and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage.
