AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND REQUESTING THE BOARD OF PUBLIC
AFFAIRS TO ADVERTISE, AND TAKE BIDS FOR, THE SURFACING OR
RESURFACING OF 250 BLOCKS OF STREETS, MORE OR LESS, IN THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That the Board of Public Affairs is hereby
authorized and requested to advertise, and take bids for, the surfacing
or resurfacing of 250 blocks of streets, more or less, in the City
of *Little Rock.
SECTION 2. Plans and specifications for this resurfacing
program shall be available in the City Engineer's Office for use in
bidding on said contracts, not later than May 16, 1956. The Board
of Public Affairs hereby reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
SECTION 3. Any bids on said project, shall be placed in the
hands of the Board of Public. Affairs not later than May 30, 1956,
and contracts for said work shall be let at Noon on June 1, 1956.
SECTION 4. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in con-
flict herewith are hereby repealed and these streets to be surfaced
or resurfaced, constitute a hazard to the people of the City of Little
Rock using them, therefore, an emergency is hereby declared and this
Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage
and approval.
