SECTiOi� 1. The Board of Public Affairs is hereby
authorized and directed to amend the contract with the
Ueneral American insurance Company so as to increase the
coverage from Two Thousand Dollars (:2000.00) protection,
to rour Thousand Dollars (.;4000.00) protection for each
member of the fire and Police Department now insured. All
new employees of these respective departments to be eligible
for a maximum of four "Thousand Dollars (.P4000.00) .
5:;T1JiJ 2. The increased benefits shall be effective
as of January 1, 1957 and the City shall pay its pro rata
share of the premium on said Four Thousand Dollars (y4000.00)
worth of insurance as provided by the present contract.
SECTiON 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed, and this ordinance
being necessary for the general welfare, health, and safety
of the public, an emergency is hereby declared, and this
ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon
its passage and approval.
