HomeMy WebLinkAbout10411� � w ORDINANCE NO. 10,411 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 109045 OF THE ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, REVISING FARE STRUCTURES FOR PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION IN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 891T ORDATJM BY THE C -ITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS : SECTION 1. That Section 12 of Ordinance No. 10,045 of the Ordinances of the City of Little Rock be -and it is hereby amended to read as follows: "SECTION 12. In consideration of the various obligations and duties to -be performed by the Company, it.shall be entitled to collect such fares and charges as may, from time to time, be fixed by the City Council, which fares shall be sufficient and adequate to provide a reasonable rate of return on its investment, after paying all operating expenses, taxes, maintenance, depreciation, and amortization of its property and investment, and any other proper charges levied against said Company. The fares which may be charged, until such time as they may be changed by the procedure as set out above, shall be as follows: Children (under 12 years of age) . . $0.05 School children . . . . . . . . . . 0.05 Adults . . . . . . . * 0.15 Or seven (7) t©e1.00 Free transfers Any person boarding the South Highland bus -- south of Twentieth and Pine Street shall only be required to pay one fare for the purpose of riding the bus to town." SECTION 2. The above fare to become effective on February 1, 1957 and will be subject to review six months (6 mos.) from that date to determine whether this fare structure will be permanent, and if not changed after review, the above fare structure will be considered a permanent increase. SECTION 3. That this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergency is hereby declared to exist. That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed, and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after February 1, 1957• PASSED*- January 21, 1957 ATTEST: 0" *-PkAVW W.
