AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF WARRANTS TO
SECURE FUNDS TO MEET PAYROLLS OF THE STREET DEPARTMENT
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK FOR THE MONTHS OF JANUARY
THROUGH MAY, 1957, INCLUSIVE; DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK
TO MAKE NECESSARY ARRANGEMENTS WITH THE FIRST NATIONAL
BANK IN LITTLE ROCK FOR HANDLING OF THESE WARRANTS;
PROVIDING FOR THE REPAYMENT OF SAID WARRANTS; AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, it is ascertained by the City Council of the City
of Little Rock that the revenues for the Street Department of said
City will be sufficient to discharge the expenditures of that
department for the year 1957; and
WHEREAS, bawavee the revenues for use of that department
during the first five months will be less than the anticipated
expenditures; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary that arrangements be made immedi-
ately to provide funds with which to make certain payrolls of the
Street Department for the months of January through May, 1957,
inclusive;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed
to make necessary arrangements with the First National Bank in Little
Rock, Little Rock, Arkansas for the handling of payroll warrants for
the Street Department of the City as deemed necessary for the months
of January through May, 1957, inclusive, pending receipt of revenues
in the street funds which will allow payment of these warrants during
this fiscal year.
SECTION 2. At the time the City Clerk finds that a suffi-
cient balance is on hand in the Street Fund to pay these warrants,
he is directed to inform the First National Bank in Little Rock and
to pay fiscal fees incurred by the handling.
SECTION 3. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in con-
flict herewith are hereby repealed and this ordinance shall be in full
force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
