RESOLUTION NO. 11,849
3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO
4 EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH STANDARD LIFE INSURANCE
5 COMPANY TO PROVIDE TERM LIFE INSURANCE
6 COVERAGE FOR CITY EMPLOYEES; AND FOR OTHER
7 PURPOSES.
9 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock provides term life insurance coverage to all
10 regular full -time City employees, and
11 WHEREAS, in response to a request for proposal for the term life insurance
12 coverage, Standard Life Insurance Company submitted a proposal to provide the
13 current level of life insurance benefits to all regular full -time City employees at the
14 current rate and
15 WHEREAS, Standard Life Insurance Company further agreed to maintain the
16 premium rate for a three -year period, effective January 1, 2005..
17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
18 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
19 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with
20 Standard Life Insurance Company to provide the current level of life insurance benefits
21 to all regular full -time employees, for a three -year period, effective January 1, 2005.
22 Section 2. Funds for the cost of the coverage are included as a line item in the
23 2005 City budget.
24 Section 3. Severability. In the event any portion of this resolution is declared or
25 adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not
26 affect the remaining portions of this resolution, which shall remain in full force and

I effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not
2 originally a part of this resolution.
3 Section 4. Repealer. All ordinances and resolutions, and parts thereof, which
4 are in conflict with any provision of this resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of
5 such conflict.
