AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF J STREET
WHEREAS, a petition was duly filed with the City Council of the City
of Little Rock, Arkansas, on the 4th day of April, 1957, asking the City
Council to vacate and abandon all that portion of J Street designated on
the plat of Hollenberg Addition, an Addition to the City of Little Rock,
now appearing of 'record in Deed Record Book No. 76 at Page 150, in the
office of the Circuit Clerk and ex officio Recorder of Pulaski County,
Arkansas, hereinafter described; and
VJHEREAS, after due notice as required by law, the Council has, at the
time and place mentioned in the notice, heard all persons desiring to be
heard on the question and has ascertained that the portion.of J Street
hereinafter described has heretofore been dedicated to the public use as a
street but has never been actually used by the public as a street or alley;
that all the owners of the property abutting upon the portion of J Street
to be vacated have filed with the Council their written consent to such
abandoinhent; and that public interest and welfare will not be adversely
affected by the abandonment of such portion of J Street; now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas:
SECTION 1. The City of Little Rock, Arkansas, hereby releases, vacates
and abandons all its rights together with the rights of the public generally,
except for the rights and needs of public utilities, including the Little
Rock Municipal 4aterworks, for ingress and egress to maintain any existing
utility lines, including water lines, in said area, and except for the rights
and needs of the City of Little Rock for ingress and egress to control drain-
age in said area and to that part of J Street designated as follows:
Beginning at the southwest corner of Lot 7)Block 5 Hollenberg
Addition to the City of Little Rock, thence east to the south-
east corner of Lot 6.,Block 5 of said addition, thence to the northeast
corner of Lot 1f Block 12 of said addition, thence to the north-
west corner of Lot 10 of Block 12 of said addition, thence to the
point of beginning. Commonly described as that part of J Street
bounded on the west by North Fillmore Street on the east by North
Taylor Street on the north by Block 5 and on the south by Block 12,
Hollenberg Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas.
SECTION 2. A copy of this ordinance, duly certified by the City Clerk,
shall be.filed in the office of the Pulaski County Recorder and recorded in
the deed records of Pulaski County.

SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after its passage.
