AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE ANNEXATION OF
MARKHAM MANOR TO THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE ROCK,
SECTION 1. It is hereby recognized that a majority of the real
estate owners of a tract of land continguous and adjoining the City of
Little Rock, Arkansas, duly petitioned the County Court of Pulaski
County, Arkansas, that their property be annexed to the City of Little
Rock; and that after publication of notice of the hearing on said petition
and other formalities required by the Statutes of Arkansas, a hearing
was held and the County Court of Pulaski County made a finding that
all requirements for annexing to the City of Little Rock the lands described
in this ordinance have been met, and ordered said lands to be annexed to
the City of Little Rock, and that no proceeding was instituted in the Circuit
Court of Pulaski County to prevent the annexation within thirty days from
the date of the order of the County Court of Pulaski County.
SECTION 2. The City of Little Rock, Arkansas, pursuant to the
statutes of Arkansas, does hereby accept the said annexation and the
following described lands known as Markham Manor, are hereby annexed to
the City of Little Rock:
Part of the Southeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of
Section Two (2) , Township One 0) North, Range Thirteen
(13) West, as follows, to -wit: Beginning at the Southeast
corner of said SEI /4 NEI /4 ; thence North along the East
line of said SEI /4 NEI /4 355 feet; thence West parallel to
the North line of said SEI /4 NEI /4 270 feet; thence North
parallel to the East line of said SEI /4 NEI /4 38.6 feet;
thence West parallel to the North line of said SEI /4 NEI /4
172 feet; thence North parallel to the East line of said SEI /4
NEI /4 930 feet to the North line of said SE1 /4 NEI /4; thence
West along the North line of said SEI /4 NE1 /4 417 feet; thence
South parallel to the East line of said SE1 /4 NE1 /4 480 feet;
thence West parallel to the North line of said SE1 /4 NE1 /4
460 feet to a point on the West line of said SEI /4 NE1 /4,
thence South along said line 829.8 feet to the Southwest corner
of said SEI /4 NEI /4; thence East along the South line of
said SEI /4 NEI /4 1319 feet to the point of beginning; all in
Pulaski County, Arkansas.

SECTION 3. It appearing that the residents in the area hereby
annexed are suffering serious hardship and inconvenience because they
are deprived of the services provided by the City of Little Rock, in order
to preserve the peace, health, and safety of the people of the City of
Little Rock, an emergency is hereby declared and this ordinance shall
be in full force and effect from and after its passage.
