HomeMy WebLinkAbout10624ORDINANCE NO. 10 #624 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING THAT EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY CLERKtS OFFICE BE PAID AT THEIR REGULAR RATE OF PAY WHEN REQUIRED TO WORK ON HOLIDAYS AND SATURDAYS DUE TO THE ABSENCE FROM THE OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK AND ONE SECRETARY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, the City Clerk has been absent due to illness since June 21, 1957, and WHEREAS, one Secretary has been absent due to illness and vacation since June 5, 1957; and WHEREAS, due to the absence of these two employees it has been necessary for the other three employees to work holidays and some Saturdays to carry on the work of this office, and; WHEREAS, it will be necessary for these employees to work all Saturdays and Holidays until the petitions on the Firements 56- hour work week and the petitions for City Directors have been checked and certified, plus other petitions which may be filed; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. That employees in the City Clerkt s office when required to work more than 40 hours be paid at their regular rate of pay for such extra work, including Saturdays previously worked, July 4th, 5th and V -J Day, which were authorized holidays for other employ- ees. SECTION 2. That this ordinance be retroactive to July 4th, 1957 and all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
