AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR A PROGRAM OF WORK AND SERVICES
20 BE PERFORMED BY THE METROPOLITAN AREA NAMING COHHI$-
SIM POR THE CALBNDiAR YEAR 1958; APPROPRIATING FUNDS
PAYABLE TD METROPOLITAN AREA PLANNING CD MISSIOV; AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
Whereas, Ordinance No. 10751 of the City of Little Rock
authorized the City of Little Rock to employ the Metropolitan
Area Planning Commission to perform work and services in the
preparation of plans and planning for the City of Utt.4s Rock;
and,
Whereas, the City of Little Rock And Metropolitan Area
Planning Commission have agreed upon a program of work and
services to be performed by said Metropolitan Area Planning
QxMission for and on behalf of the City of Little Rock for
the year 1958; and,
Whereas, the City of Little Rock and Metropolitan Area
Planning Commission have agreed upon the consideration to be
paid by the City for such work and services; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
RUCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. Effective immediately upon the passage of this
ordinance the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission shall
initiate a work program of plans and planning to meet the needs
and requirements of the City of Little Rock during the calendar
year of 1958 in the following particulars:
1. A master st=et .sod highway plan.
2. A program for parks and recreation.
3. A program of public improvements.
4. A program for sewers and drainage.
5. A program for zoning and subdivision regulations.
6. Area studies for referrals and recommendations.
7. General Aid on other problems confronting the
City during the year 1958.

88MON 2.. The above work program is to be completed by
Metropolitan Area Planning Commission during the year 1958.
SECTION 3. There is hereby appropriat:d payable to the
Metropolitan Area Planning Commission in payment of services
to be performed in Section 1 hereinabove set forth the sum of
Twenty Thousand Seven Hundred Ninety -One Dollars ($20,791.00)
payable as follows:
Four Thousand Five hundred Dollars ($4,500.00) payable
. "before May 1, 1958. The balance of Sixteen Thousand
Two Hundred Ninety -One Dollars ($16,291.00) to be
paid in eight (8) monthly installments beginning May
1, 1958; the first seven (7) of which shall each be in
the amount of Two Thousand Thirty -Six and 38/100 Dollars
($2,036.38) and the eighth (8th) of which shall be in
the amount of 1%m Thousand Thirty -Six and 34/100 Dollars
$23,036.34).
SECTION 4. The total appropriation for each the Little
Rock Planning Commission and the Executive Department as here-
tofore provided for in the annual budget of the City of Little
Rock for 1958 adopted by Ordinance No. 10732 is hereby reduced
by the amounts of Eleven Thousand Seven Hundred Ninety -One
Dollars ($11,791.00) and Nine Thousand and no /100 Dollars
($9,000.00) respectively, and Ordinance No. 10732 is hereby
amended to conform herewith.
SECTION 5. It has been determined that the work to be per-
formed by Metropolitan Area Planning Commission hereinabove
set forth in section 1 is immediately needed for the further
orderly development of the City of Little Rock thus providing
the necessary services and facilities to all of its citizens;
and, that the enactment of this ordinance will accomplish this
purpose; now therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist
and, this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of
public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage and approval.
