AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK TO
REQUEST THE SERVICES OF THE METROPOLITAN AREA PLANNING
COMMISSION IN THE PREPARATION OF PLANS AND PLANNING FOR
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
o WHEREAS, under the provisions of Section 2 of Act No. 26, Acts
of Arkansas of 1955, the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission
° may assist any planning commission of the cooperating cities
ro in the preparation and effectuation of local plans and planning

consistent with the program of the Metropolitan Planning Agency;
and
WHEREAS, under the provisions of Section 5 of said Act No. 26,
supra, authorizing participating members under the Joint Agree-
ment for metropolitan planning, in the interest of economy and
efficiency and in the interest of uniform standards and procedure,
to request the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission to assume
certain duties and functions of local planning agencies; and
WHEREAS, under the Agreement for Joint Planning Cooperation of
March 3, 1955, and Article 5 therein, to which the City of Little
Rock is a party, the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission of
Pulaski County may assist the parties to the agreement in pre-
paration of local plans or in planning consistent with the
program and means of the Commission; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City of Little Rock hereby requests the
Metropolitan Planning Commission to assist and help in the pre-
paration of plans and planning for the City of Little Rock.
SECTION 2. The extent of the services and work to be under-
taken by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission for the benefit
of the City Of Little Rock shall be subject to and determined by

a work program of plans and planning to be agreed upon in
advance by the City of Little Rock and the Metropolitan
Area Planning Commission.
SECTION 3. At such time as the work program provided
for in Section 2 hereinabove is agreed upon the City of
Little Rock and the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission
shall further agree as to the value of the services and
work to be performed by the Metropolitan Area Planning Com-
mission for which funds shall be appropriated.
SECTION 4. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed and this ordinance shall
be in full force and effect from and after its passage and
approval.
