AN ORDINANCE LEVYING ADDITIONAL COURT COSTS IN CASES
OF PERSONS CONVICTED OF PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS AND DRIVING
WHILE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL OR DRUGS; AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. In all cases of criminal convictions of persons
in the Little Rock Municipal Court for the offense of publitl�
drunkenness, the Little Rock Municipal Court shall levy a cost
of One ($1.00) Dollar; in all cases of criminal convictions of
persons in the Little Rock Municipal Court for the offense of
driving while under the influence of alcohol or narcotic drugs,
the Little Rock Municipal Court shall levy a cost of Five ($5.00)
Dollars.
SECTION 2. Said costs shall be levied in addition to such
costs as are now or may hereafter be provided by law.
SECTION 3. Said costs shall bepaid to the City Treasurer
at the same time and in the same 'manner as other Court costs in
the first -class accounts. All costs collected under this Ordi-
nance shall be paid into a special fund to be used in the pur-
chase, maintenance and operation of equipment designed to test
the fact and degree of intoxication of persons arrested on
charges of public drunkenness, or driving under the influence
of intoxicants.
SECTION 4. The surplus, if any, after the accomplishment
of the above purpose, may be used in defraying any other legiti-

mate administrative expense of the Court. C

SECTION S. The provisions of this Ordinance are severable;
and if any part or provision hereof shall be held void, the de-
cision of the Court shall not affect or impair any of the
remaining parts or provisions.
SECTION 6. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in con-
flict herewith are hereby repealed, and this Ordinance shall be
in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
