AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE LOW BID OF GENERAL ELECTRIC
COMPANY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, ON THE PURCHASE OF A
CIVIL DEFENSE PUBLIC WARNING SYSTEM FOR THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS; APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF EIGHT
THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED SEVENTY -EIGHT DOLLARS AND FORTY
CENTS ($8,678.40) THEREFOR; AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING
THE CITY MANAGER AND DIRECTOR OF FINANCE TO EXECUTE
THE NECESSARY WARRANTS THEREFOR; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, there has been proper legal advertisement for bids
for the purchase by the City of one (1) Civil Defense Public
Warning System, and,
WHEREAS, the bid of General Electric Company of Little Rock,
Arkansas, of Thirteen Thousand Six Hundred Seventy -Eight Dollars
and Forty Cents ($13,678.40) is the low bid submitted therefor,
and,
WHEREAS, Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) has previously
been appropriated by Ordinance No. 10,782 for the purchase of
the said Civil Defense Public Warning System,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The bid of General Electric Company of Little
Rock, Arkansas for one (1) Civil Defense Public Warning System
itemized as follows in the amount of Thirteen Thousand Six Hundred
Seventy -Eight Dollars and Forty Cents ($13,678.40) is hereby
accepted:

SECTION 2. There is hereby appropriated the sum of Eight Thou-
sand Six Hundred Seventy -Eight Dollars and Forty Cents ($8,678.40)
payable to General Electric Company of Little Rock, Arkansas, in

payment for a Civil Defense Public Warning System, there having
been previously appropriated by Ordinance No. 10,782 the sum
of Five Thousand Dollars ($6,000.00) representing the balance
remaining on the said equipment.
SECTION 3. The City Manager and Director of Finance are
hereby authorized and directed to execute the necessary warrants
in payment thereof.
SECTION 4. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in con-
flict herewith are hereby repealed and this ordinance shall be
in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
