HomeMy WebLinkAbout13591I RESOLUTION NO. 13,591 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO EXTEND THE CURRENT CONTRACT WITH 4 QUAL CHOICE (QCA) TO PROVIDE HEALTH CARE INSURANCE 5 FOR CITY EMPLOYEES FOR THE YEAR 2013; AND FOR OTHER 6 PURPOSES. 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 34 35 36 WHEREAS, an RFP for Health Care Coverage for City employees was issued with responses due September 12, 2012; and, WHEREAS, three (3) insurers submitted responses including various options for coverage; and, WHEREAS, after review of the options, the City's contracted consultants for benefit plans have recommended our accepting one of the options offered by the incumbent provider, QualChoice (QCA); and, WHEREAS, a review of the coverage, including requirements of PPACA, was conducted and an option offered by QCA which most closely matches our current plan and maintains the "deductible credit" wellness option was determined to offer the best combination of premium rates and coverage; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to extend the current contract with QCA to provide health care insurance benefits to City employees for the year 2013. Section 2. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the resolution. Section 3. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
