ORDINANCE NO. 10,884
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 73872
AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCES NO. 7496 AND 9916; ESTABLISHING
THE FEES TO BE COLLECTED BY THE SANITATION DEPARTMENT
FOR GARBAGE COLLECTION WITHIN A ONE -HALF MILE RADIUS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS; FIXING THE TIME FOR
COLLECTION THEREOF; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That Section 1 of Ordinance No. 7387, as amended
by Ordinances No. 7496 and 9916, is hereby amended to read as
follows:
"SECTION 1. The Sanitation Department is authorized
to collect garbage in areas adjacent to the City of Little
Rock and for said services collect fees as follows:
For the purpose of this Ordinance, the calendar year is
divided into four quarters, the first quarter covering the
months of January, February and March; the second quarter
covering the months of April, May and June; the third
quarter covering the months of July, August and September;
the fourth quarter covering the months of October, November
and December.
A fee of Six and No /100 Dollars ($6.00) per quarter
or fractional part of a quarter, payable in advance is here-
by levied for each single family dwelling or multiple unit
dwelling."
SECTION 2. The date of January 1, 1959, is hereby established
as the first day on which the rate, as herein provided, shall be-
come effective.
SECTION 3. That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed; and since it is necessary
to take proper precautions and make regulations for the collection
of garbage and since the proper collection of said garbage is en-

dangered by reason of the fact that there is not adequate money
on hand to collect same in a proper manner, an emergency is here-
by declared to exist; and this ordinance is found to be necessary
for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and
safety of the citizens of Little Rock, Arkansas, and the same
shall be in full force and effect from and after January 1, 1959.
