"; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. Section 7A of Ordinance No. 10,783, same being, "An Ordinance of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, adopting a revised salary plan, for municipal employment; fixing the classi- fication, salary and number of employees of the various depart- ments of the City; establishing policy concerning hours, employ- ment, promotion, vacation, sick leave, disability retirement, military leave, holidays and other leave; repealing all ordinances in conflict herewith, declaring an emergency to exist, and for other purposes. ", is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 7. VACATION, SICK LEAVE AND MILITARY LEAVE A. Vacations for regular full -time non - uniform employees of the City of Little Rock shall accrue at the rate of five- sixth (5/6) working days per month of service for employees who have less than ten (10) years service and at the rate of one and one - fourth (1k) working days per month of service for employees who have more than ten (10) years service. Accrued vacation must be taken during the twelve (12) month period immediately following the anniversary date of employ- meet, and the time at which an employee shall take his vaca- tion shall be determined by the department head with due re- gard for the wishes of such employee and particular regard fDr the need of his services. DUD -� ?6 -// f -2- Provided, however, that after an employee has completed his probation or test working period and before the anniversary date of his employment the department head may permit such em- ployee to have such vacation time as has accrued during said probationary period, which shall be charged against the maximum vacation accrueable during such employee's first full year of employment. "Probation "or "test working period" as used herein is de- fined as the first six (6) months of employment. SECTION 2. Section 7B of Ordinance No. 10,873 is hereby amended to read as follows: ' -B. Every employee who has accrued unused vacation time shall have such time paid when he leaves the City's employment, whether by resignation, retirement, lay -off, or death. Provided, however, that such vacation time shall not exceed the amount which may be accrued as set forth in Section 7 -A hereinabove. Provided further that when an employee is discharged he shall be deemed to have for- feited his right to such accrued vacation time and shall not be paid therefor." SECTION 3. Section 9A of Ordinance No. 10,783 is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 9. HOLIDAYS AND OTHER LEAVE A. The following legal holidays will be observed by the City of Little Rock: January 1st - New Year's Day May 30th - Memorial or Decoration Day July 4th - Independence Day First Monday in September - Labor Day Last Thursday in November - Thanksgiving Day December 25th - Christmas Day When a holiday falls on Sunday, the following Monday will be observed as a holiday." -3- SECTION 4. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
