ORDINANCE N0. 10,899
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 56 A (1) AND 56 B (7) AND
56 B (8) OF ORDINANCE NO. 10,8821 SAME BEING:
"AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR AND ADOPTING THE BUDGET
FOR THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK., ARKANSAS, FOR THE 74ELVE
(12) MONTH PERIOD BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 1959, AND
ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1959; APPROPRIATING MONEY FOR
EACH AND EVERY ITEM OF EXPENDITURE THEREIN PROVIDED
FOR; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY TO EXIST; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.";
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. Section 56 A (1) of Ordinance No. 10,882, same
being: "An ordinance providing for and adopting the budget for
the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, for the twelve (12) month
period beginning January 1, 1959, and ending December 31, 1959;
appropriating money for each and every item of expenditure there-
in provided for; declaring an emergency to exist; and for other
purposes. ", is hereby amended to read as follows:

SECTION 4. It has been determined that the existing
ordinances of the City of Little Rock do not provide for
adequate semi- skilled laborers to maintain streets in the
said city creating a condition which is detrimental to the
public peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of said
city; that this ordinance by increasing the number of semi-
skilled laborers authorized for the maintenance of streets
in the said city will substantially correct the said evil;
now therefore, an emergenc;r is hereby declared to exist
and this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of
public peace, health and safety shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval; and all
ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed.
