ORDINANCE NO. 10, 943
AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE ANNEXATION TO THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, OF A TERRITORY OF LAND
LOCATED IN SECTIONS 1 AND 2, TOWNSHIP 1 NORTH,
RANGE 13 WEST, PULASKI COUNTY, ARKANSAS, BEING CONTIGUOUS
TO THE EXISTING SOUTH AND WEST BOUNDARY OF SAID CITY, AND
FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, upon the petition of a majority of the real estate
owners owning a majority of the acreage in the area affected, as
required by law, and after due notice of hearing on said petition
for the time and in the manner prescribed by law, the County Court
of Pulaski County, Arkansas, did on the 17th day of March, 1959,
enter an order annexing the area in Pulaski County more specifically
described in Section 1 hereof to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas;
and
WHEREAS, more than thirty (30) days have elapsed within
which any interested person could institute proceedings in the Circuit
Court of Pulaski County, Arkansas, to prevent said annexation, and
there have appeared no Protestants to this annexation; and
WHEREAS, said area as hereinafter specifically described is
contiguous to and adjoins the City of Little Rock on the South and
West boundary of said City, and as all proceedings for the annexa-
tion of said area have been conducted as required by law;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That the following described territory in
Pulaski County, Arkansas, to -wit:
Beginning at the Southeast corner of the Southeast
Quarter (SE -J) of the Northeast Quarter (NE -J) of
Section 2, Township 1 North, Range 13 West, said
Southeast corner being on the existing city limits
line of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, and
located at the intersection of the center line of
Mississippi Street and the South boundary line of
Markham Manor Addition to the City of Little Rock,
Arkansas; thence North along the East line of
Markham Manor, 355 feet; thence West parallel to
the North line of the SEi of the NEi, of said
Section 2, 270 feet; thence North parallel to the
East line of the SE* of the NEi, 38.6 feet; thence
West parallel to the North line of the SEi of,the

on the South right -of -way line of West Markham
Street; thence East along a line 30 feet South of
and parallel to the North line of the SE-J of the
NE* of said Section 2 to the E`�-st line of said
Section 2, said point being 30 -feet South of the
Northwest corner of the SWJ of the NIW-42 of Section
1, Township 1 North, Range 13 West; thence South
200 feet along the West line of Section 1, Township
1 North, Range 13 West to a point; thence East along
a line 230 feet South of and parallel to the North
line of the SJ of the NWJ of said Section 1 to a
point on the East line of the NWJ, of said Section 1,
said point being 230 feet South of the Northeast corner
of the SE-- 4 of the NWT of Section 1, Township 1 North,
Range 13 West, said point being on the existing City
limits line, and line so far described being the City
Limits line; thence South along the center line of
Section 1, Township 1 North, Range 13 West, 1092.6
feet, to the Southeast corner of the SE-J of the NWJ
of said Section 1; thence West along the centerline
of Section 1, Township 1 North, Range 13 West, 2654.2
feet to the Southwest corner of the SWJ of the NW-J of
Section 1, Township 1 North, Range 13 West, said point
also being the Southeast corner of the Southeast Quarter
of the Northeast Quarter of Section 2, Township 1 North,
Range 13 West, and the point of beginning,
be and the same is hereby accepted as annexed to, and is hereby made
a part of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas; that said territory
shall henceforth be assigned and attached to the Fifth Ward of said
City; and that the residents therein shall henceforth have and
enjoy all the rights and privileges of citizens of the City of
Little Rock, Arkansas.
