HomeMy WebLinkAbout10955A_ ORDINANCE NO. 10,955 AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING FROM THE STREET FUND OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK THE SUM OF TWO THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED FIFTY ONE AND 46/100 DOLLARS ($2,151.46) PAYABLE TO MAX MEHLBURGER, ENGI- NEERS; ONE HUNDRED FIVE AND N01100 DOLLARS ($105.00) TO BARROW - AGEE LABORATORIES, INC.; AND ONE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED TWENTY THREE AND 24/100 DOLLARS ($1,523.24) TO BEN M. HOGAN COMPANY, ALL OF WHICH APPROPRIATIONS ARE MADE FOR MATERIALS FURNISHED AND SERVICES RENDERED IN CONNECTION WITH THE WIDENING AND PAVING OF WEST THIRD STREET BETWEEN CROSS AND VICTORY STREETS AND STATE STREET BETWEEN 2ND STREET AND LA HARPE BOULEVARD IN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK; AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER AND DIRECTOR OF FINANCE. TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY WARRANTS IN PAYMENT THEREFOR ; - DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, the City, by Ordinance No. 10,872, appropriated the sum of Twenty Seven Thousand One Hundred Sixty Two and 83/100 Dollars ($27,162.83) to Ben M. Hogan Company for the widening and paving of West Third Street between Cross and Victory Streets and State Street between 2nd Street and La Harpe Boulevard; and WHEREAS, Ben M. Hogan Company has furnished additional materials, payment for which was not previously appropriated by the said Ordinance; and WHEREAS, Max Mehlburger, Engineer, has rendered professional engineering services and Barrow -Agee Laborabories, Inc., has con- ducted certain tests in connection with the said project; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated the following separate sums of money in the amounts and payable to the persons, firms or corporations as set out below. Said moneys are appropriated for services rendered in connection with the widening and paving of West Third Street between Cross Street and Victory Street,and State Street between 2nd Street and La Harpe Boulevard in the City of Little Rock and shall be paid from the Street Fund of the City of Little Rock. The City Manager and Director of Finance are hereby authorized and directed to execute the necessary warrants in payment of moneys appropriated in Section 1 hereof. SECTION 3. It has been determined that the width of the two por- tions of streets hereinabove identified have created a hazardous condition to the movement of vehicular traffic along the said streets which condition has placed in jeopardy the health, safety and welfare of the citizenry of this City; and that the passage of this ordinance will correct the said condition; now therefore, an emergency is here- by declared to exist and this ordinance being necessary for the pre- servation of public peace, health and safety shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval; and all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
