AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE ANNEXATION TO THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, OF A TERRITORY
OF LAND LOCATED IN THE SOUTHWEST QUARTER OF
SOUTHWEST QUARTER OF SECTION 35, TOWNSHIP 2
NORTH, RANGE 13 WEST, AND THE NORTH ONE HALF
OF SECTION 2, TOWNSHIP 1 NORTH, RANGE 13 WEST,
OF PULASKI COUNTY, ARKANSAS, BEING CONTIGUOUS
TO THE EXISTING WEST BOUNDARY OF SAID CITY,
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, upon the petition of a majority of the real
estate owners owning a majority of the acreage in the area
affected, as required by law, and after due notice of hearing
on said petition for the time and in the manner prescribed by
law, the County Court of Pulaski County, Arkansas, did on the
30th day of July, 1959, enter an order annexing the area in
Pulaski County more specifically described in Section 1 hereof
to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas; and
WHEREAS, more than thirty (30) days have elapsed within
which any interested person could institute proceedings in the
Circuit Court of Pulaski County, Arkansas, to prevent said
annexation, and there have appeared no protestants to this
annexation; and
WHEREAS, said area as hereinafter specifically described
is contiguous to and adjoins the City of Little Rock on the
south and West boundary of said City, and as all proceedings for
the annexation of said area have been conducted as required by
law;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE DIRECTORS OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That the following described territory in
Pulaski County, Arkansas, to -wit:
Beginning at the Northeast corner of the Northeast
quarter (NE') of the Northwest quarter (NWu) of
Section 2, Township 1 North, Range 13 West, running
thence South along the East line of said Northeast
quarter (NEu) of the Northwest quarter �NWL ) a
distance of 854.46 feet thence South 89 - 21' West,

a distance of 165.42 feet to the East right -of -way
line of Rodney Parham Road for a point of beginning;
from said point of beginning run South 8�0 - 21' West
25+.69 feet to a point which is South 89 - 21' West
420 feet West from the Southeast corner of Section A
Brookfield Subdivision; running thence South 00 - 421
West 405 feet to a point on the North right -of -way
line of West Markham Street, 40 feet North of the
center line thereof; thence Westerly along the North
right -of -way line of W. Markham Street, a distance
of 2196.6 feet to the West line of Section 2, Town-
ship 1 North, Range 13 West; thence North along
the West line of said Section 2, a distance of 1313.2
feet to the Northwest corner thereof; thence :Nest
along the South line of Section 35, Township 2 North,
Range 13 West, a distance of 47.55 feet to the South -
west corner thereof; thence North along the West line
of said Section 35 fo the North right -of -way line of
Rodney Parham Road; thence East Southeasterly along
the North right -of -way of Rodney Parham Road to the
North line of Section 2, Township 1 North, Range 13
West, thence East along the North line of said Sec-
tion 2 to a point 675.82 feet West of the Northeast
corner of the Northeast quarter (NE') of the Northwest
quarter (NW-I-) of said Section 2, thence Southwesterly
along the Northwest line of lot 24, Brookfield Sub-
division, Section A continuing along said line to the
East boundary line of said Ro dney Parham Road thence
in a Southeasterly direction along the East boundary
line of Rodney Parham Road a distance of 992.89 feet
to the point of beginning,
be and the same is hereby accepted as annexed to, and is hereby
made a part of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas; that said
territory shall henceforth be assigned and attached to the Fifth
Ward of said City; and that the residents therein shall henceforth
have and enjoy all the rights and privileges of citizens of the
City of Little Rock, Arkansas.
