AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 20 -7 OF THE LITTLE
ROCK CODE OF ORDINANCES TO PROVIDE A PENALTY FOR
FAILING TO RETURN LIBRARY BOOKS; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. Section 20 -7 of the Little Rock Code of
Ordinances is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 20 -7. Destruction damage or failure to
return 71brary property; penalty.-
"Any person who shall deface, disfigure, damage
or destroy any book, paper, magazine, picture, phonograph
record, or any other property in, belonging to or being
used by the Little Rock Public Library, or who shall fail
to return or pay the reasonable-value of any such property
of said Library within forty -five (45) days from the date
of the posting, by registered or certified mail, of a
notice addressed to such person at the last address furnished
the Little Rock Public Library, which notice may be given
at any time after the date on which such person should
have returned the loaned property, or who shall deface,
disfigure, damage or destroy any building or property
belonging to or being used by the City for library purposes,
shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction
in municipal court, shall be fined not less than $15.00
nor more than $25.00 for each offense."
SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in con-
flict herewith are hereby repealed and this ordinance shall be
in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
