AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 7452 AND ORDINANCE NO.
8669 OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, SAME BEING ORDINANCES
GRANTING A FRANCHISE FOR ARTISTIC ADVERTISING BENCHES ON STREET-
CAR AND BUS ROUTES; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 7452 granted to Mrs. J. Edwin
Lowe and assigns an exclusive franchise for a period of
five (5) years to place artistic advertising benches along the
streetcar and bus routes in the City of Little Rock for use by
the public; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 8669 granted a ten (10) year ex-
tension of the franchise granted by Ordinance No. 7452, together
with an option to renew said franchise for an additional ten (10)
year period thereafter; and
WHEREAS, the assignee of franchisee has petitioned the
City of Little Rock to cancel and terminate the franchise granted
in the above mentioned ordinances and to issue a franchise for
a ten (10) year period commencing simultaneously with the cancella-
tion and termination of the now existing franchise; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock
feels that same is in the best interests of the City of Little
Rock and the public;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION I. Ordinance No. 7452 is hereby repealed in its
entirety.
SECTION 2. Ordinance No. 8669 is hereby repealed in its
entirety.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval.
