HomeMy WebLinkAbout11245ORDINANCE NO. 11,245 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CERTAIN PORTIONS OF SECTION 2 OF ORDINANCE NO. 10,045, AS AMENDED, BY REDESIGNATING CER- TAIN BUS ROUTES WITHIN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK; AMENDING SECTION 12 OF ORDINANCE NO. 10,0452 AS AMENDED, BY PRO- VIDING DIFFERENT FARES FOR TRANSPORTATION; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. Subsections A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K and L under Section 2 of Ordinance No. 10,045, as amended, are hereby amended as follows: A. PULASKI HEIGHTS From Capitol and Main Street - North on Main to Second Street, west on Second to Center Street, North on Center to Markham'. West on Markham to Victory, South on Victory to Third, West on Third to Summit, North on Summit to Second, West on Second to Boone, Northwest on Boone to Markham, West on Markham to Kavanaugh, follow Kavanaugh to Cantrell, West on Cantrell to Harrison, North on Harrison to Kavanaugh, East on Kavanaugh and return same route as outbound to Markham and Center Streets, continue on Markham to Main, South on Main to Capitol. (1) West Seventh - From Capitol and Main Street - West on Capitol to Arch Street, South on Arch Street to Seventh Street, West on Seventh Street to Johnson Street, South on Johnson to Lamar Street, West on Lamar Street to Valentine Street, North on Valentine Street to Markham Street, West on Markham Street to University Hospital Drive, South on University Hospital Drive to Medical Center Entrance and return to Markham Street, West on Markham to Van Buren - 3 - Street, North on Van Buren to Lee Street, West on Lee to Tyler Street, North on Tyler Street to "H" Street, West on 01H" Street to University Avenue, South on Univer- sity Avenue to Markham Street, East on Markham Street to Valentine Street and return same as outbound. F. BIDDLE (LEVY, NORTH LITTLE ROCK) ROUTE NO. S. (1) BIDDLE From Capitol and Main Street - South on Main Street to Eleventh Street, East on Eleventh Street to Rock Street, South on Rock Street to Twenty -first Street, East on Twenty - first Street to McAlmont Street, South on McAlmont Street to Roosevelt Blvd., East on Roosevelt Blvd., to Confederate Blvd., South on Confederate Blvd., to follow Confederate Blvd. to Booker Homes. Return following same route as out- bound. This operates limited service to Gilliam Park during summer months. - 4 - (2) LEVY (NORTH LITTLE ROCK) From Capitol and Main Street - North on Main Street to the South end of Main Street Bridge - then proceed to North Little Rock over the Levy route. (2) FORT ROOTS (NORTH LITTLE ROCK) From Capitol and Main Street - North on Main Street to South end of Main Street Bridge - then proceed to North Little Rock over the Fort Roots route. Returning - From the South end of Main Street Bridge, South on Main Street to Capitol and Main Street. �Z SECTION 2. That Sub - sections M through P of Section 2 of Ordinance No. 10,045, as amended, are hereby repealed. SECTION 3. That Section 12 of said Ordinance No. 10,045, as amended, be, and it is hereby, amended to read as follows: "SECTION 12. In consideration of the various obli- gations and duties to be performed by the Company, it shall be entitled to collect such fares and charges as may, from time to time, be fixed by the City Board of Directors, which fares shall be sufficient and adequate to provide a reasonable rate of return on its investment, after paying all operating expenses, taxes, maintenance, depreciation, and amortization of its property and investment, and any other proper charges levied against said Company. The fares which may be charged, until such time as they may be changed by the procedure as set out above, shall be as follows: For transportation except over Cross Town routes as described in Section 1 of this Ordinance. Children (under 12 years of age) .07G School Children .10(,% Adults - cash .204� or five (5) tokens .90(,' Each Transfer .02p, Any person boarding the South Highland bus South of Twentieth and Pine Street shall only be required to pay one fare for the purpose of riding the bus to town. That the routes herein described shall be effective from the effective date hereof for a trial period of sixty (60) days and, subject to review and revision at that time satisfactory to the City of Little Rock and to Citizens Coach Company, as expressed by appropriate amendment hereto, shall continue effective thereafter.
