AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, BY ADDING A SECTION TO BE KNOWN
AS "SECTION 13 -9.1" REQUIRING PERSONS TO REPORT FIRES IM-
MEDIATELY TO THE LITTLE ROCK FIRE DEPARTMENT; PROVIDING
A PENALTY FOR FAILURE TO DO.SO; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. There is hereby created a Section to become a
part of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas,
which shall be known as Section 13 -9.1 and shall be in form and
substance as follows:
"Sec. 13 -9.1. Duty of occupant of building to report
tires and damages t ere rom to LIMA
Rock ire Department.
"(a) The occupant, whether owner, lessee or tenant
without regard to the nature of his holding, of any build-
ing or structure located within the City of Little Rock,
Arkansas, who shall have knowledge of any fire by which
any part of said building or structure, or any of the
contents or furnishings therein, may have been damaged,
shall and must immediately report same to the Fire Depart-
meet of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas. The report
shall be made by telephone to the Fire Department immedia-
tely upon receiving or having knowledge of any such fire
and shall advise the said Fire Department of the extent and
nature of such fire and the damage done thereby. For
purposes of this ordinance, the term 'occupant" shall mean
the head of a household or person responsible in his
absence, the manager or custodian in charge of the pre-
mises, or any other person whose duties include responsi-
bility for the condition of the premises, or any one of
several occupants who shall cause the others to fail to
notify the Fire Department by assurances that he has done
or will do so himself."

"(b) Any person violating any of the provisions of
this Section shall be guilty of the same penalty as pro-
vided in Section 13 -8 hereof."
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval.
