ORDINANCE NO. 11,326
AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND
CLOSING WEST SEVENTEENTH STREET
BETWEEN CROSS AND PULASKI STREETS IN
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, A RKA NSA S .
WHEREAS, a Petition was duly filed by Housing Authority of
the City of Little Rock, Arknsas; Mary L. Stubblefield and Rosa -
lita Stubblefield; Bullock Chapel ME Church; and Effie Williams,
petitioners, with the Board of Directors of the City of Little
Rock, Arkansas, asking the Board of Directors to vacate, abandon
and close West Seventeenth Street between Cross and Pulaski
Streets in the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, same being located
between Blocks 315 and 316, ORIGINAL CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas,
as more particularly described in said Petition and hereafter; and
WHEREAS, after due notice as required by law, the Board of
Directors has, at the time and place mentioned in the Notice,
heard all persons desiring to be heard on the question and has
ascertained that West Seventeenth Street between Cross and Pulaski
Streets is no longer needed or required for corporate purposes
or for use by the general public and adjoining owners in that
other streets are available and used for these purposes, that
petitioners are the only abutting landowners upon the portion of
,West Seventeenth Street to be vacated and accordingly all abutting
landowners have consented to such abandonment, and that the
public interest and welfare will not be adversely affected by the
abandonment thereof;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The City of Little Rock,Arkansas, hereby releases,
vacates, and abandons all its rights, together with the rights of

the public generally, except and subject to the rights of public
utilities as hereinafter set forth in Section 2, and also subject
to the public easement for an alley being an extension of the
N. -S. alley located in said Blocks 315 and 316, Original City of
Little Rock, Arkansas, in and to that part of West Seventeenth
Street located between Cross and Pulaski Streets, described as
follows:
West Seventeenth Street located between Cross Street on
the East and Pulaski Street on the West, and between
Blocks 315 and 316, ORIGINAL CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
Pulaski County, Arkansas, more particularly described
as follows:
Beginning at the Southwest corner of Block 315, ORIGINAL
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas, said corner being the
point of intersection of the North right -of -way line of
West Seventeenth Street and the East right -of -way line of
Pulaski Street; thence East along said North right -of -way
line of West Seventeenth Street to the Southeast corner
of said Block 315, said corner being the point of inter-
section of the North right -of -way line of West Seventeenth
Street and the West right -of -way lineo6ross Street;
thence South to the Northeast corner of Block 316, ORIGINAL
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas, said corner being the
point of intersection of the South right -of -way line of
West Seventeenth Street and the West right -of -way line of
Cross Street; thence West along the South right -of -way
line of West Seventeenth Street to the Northwest corner
of said Block 316, said corner being the point of inter-
section of the South right -of -way line of West Seventeenth
Street and the East right -of -way line of Pulaski Street;
thence North to the point of beginning;
and that the ownership thereof except as to said utility easements
provided for in Section 2 hereinafter, and said alley, shall vest
in the owners of the abutting properties.
Section 2. The rights now held by any public utility company
under the laws of the State of Arkansas or grants heretofore made
to any such utility company by the City to occupy and use that
part of West Seventeenth Street hereinabove described for the
location, construction, maintenance, and operation of its lines,

circuits, facilities and equipment for the supplying of public
utility services are hereby expressly excepted from the rights
hereinabove released, vacated and abandoned by the City; and
the releasing, vacating and abandoning by the City of that part
of West Seventeenth Street are subject to such rights now held
by any public utility company.
Section 3. A copy of this Ordinance, duly certified by the
City Clerk, shall be filed in the Office of the Recorder of
Pulaski County, Arkansas, and recorded in the deed recoids of
said County.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and aftx its passage.
Section 5. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
