HomeMy WebLinkAbout11380ORDINANCE NO. 11080 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR ELECTION OF MUNICIPAL JUDGES AT THE BIENNIAL GENERAL ELECTION HELD IN EVEN NUMBERED YEARS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. From and after the effective date of this Ordinance and pursuant to the authority of Act No. 39, Acts of Arkansas of 1961, municipal judges in this City shall be elected at the biennial general election held in even numbered years for a term of four (4) years. The applicable provisions of Section 4 of Act No. 8, Acts of Arkansas of 1957, shall be followed in conducting said elections. SECTION 2. If the term of office of any municipal judge now serving in this City expires prior to the date of the next following even year general election, he shall continue to hold his office until his successor is elected and has qualified and assumed office on January 1st of the year next succeeding the next even year general election.
