AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING MONEY FOR THE TAKING OF A
CENSUS WITHIN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK; AUTHORIZING
THE TAKING OF A CENSUS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, it is felt by the Board of Directors that substan-
tial growth in population has been realized by the City of Little
Rock since the last General Census in 1960; and
WHEREAS, the aforesaid growth is felt to be growth within
the City as a whole as distinguished from newly annexed territor-
ies, although necessarily including same; and
WHEREAS, in order to participate in the proper proportion of
State Turnback Funds, it is felt that a census should be taken to
measure the growth of the City of Little :hock and establish its
population currently;
NOW THEREFORE) BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated from unappropriated
balance in the General Fund to Administrative & General Services
Account 6 -6.10 the sum of Twenty -five Thousand Seven Hundred and
No /100 Dollars ($25,700.00) for the purpose of taking a General
Census of the whole of the City of Little Rock.
SECTION 2. Section 3(1) C. 4. of Ordinance No. 11,442, same
being the Budget Ordinance for 1964, is hereby amended to read
as follows:

SECTION 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed
to coordinate with the appropriated Federal and other agencies for
the purpose of securing a census at the earliest possible time and
to issue the City's warrant or warrants in such appropriate sums
as may be necessary to defray the expense of said census.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage.
