AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING SIX THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED TWENTY
AND NO /100 DOLLARS ($6,220.00) FROM UNAPPROPRIATED BALANCE
IN THE GENERAL FUND TO ACCOUNT 400 -7.11; AMENDING ORDINANCE
N0. 1124422 SAME BEING THE BUDGET ORDINANCE FOR 1964; DE-
CLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated from unappropriated
balance in the General Fund the sum of Six Thousand Two Hundred
Twenty and No /100 Dollars ($6,220.00) to Account 400 -7.11, same
being an equipment account within the Civil Defense Department, for
use in acquiring portable F.M. Transmitter and Receiver Units for
use in the Civil Defense Program, most of which acquisition expense
will be reimbursed from the United States Government and from private
recipients of the units purchased.
SECTION 2. Section 3(4)G.5. of Ordinance No. 11,442, same being
the Budget Ordinance for 1964, is hereby amended to read as follows:

SECTION 3. It has been found and determined that in order to
provide for the immediate acquisition of additional portable F.M.
Transmitter and Receiver Units for use in local civil defense, there-
by strengthening the capacity of local communication systems in the
event of national or local disaster, it is necessary that this appro-
priation be made to permit payment for said equipment; now, therefore,
an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance being
necessary in the interest of public health, safety and welfare shall
be in full force and effect from and after its passage.
