HomeMy WebLinkAbout11435M r-I l0 r-1 ro 0 A b a) ro 9 0 I ORDINANCE NO. 11,435 AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THREE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED AND N01100 DOLLARS ($3,500.00) FOR RIGHT -OF -WAY FOR THE EAST -WEST EXPRESSWAY; PROVIDING FOR THE PURCHASE OF A CERTAIN PARCEL OF LAND; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to acquire the parcel of land within the contemplated East -West Expressway as hereinafter identified by number. The parcel shall be acquired for the price hereinafter set forth opposite the parcel number, which price represents the approved appraisal of said parcel by the United States Bureau of Public Roads and the Arkansas State Highway Department. The full legal description of the parcel and the approved appraisal thereof are now, and shall hereafter remain, on file in the office of the Real Estate Department of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas. SECTION 2. The parcel which the City Manager is hereby authorized to acquire and the approved appraisal and purchase price thereof is as follows: Parcel Number 154 Approved Purchase Price $3,500.00 SECTION 3. The City Manager and Director of Finance are hereby authorized to pay by warrant of the City of Little Rock the above pur- chase price for the parcel to the person or persons entitled thereto according to the opinion of the City Attorney so as to vest full title to the parcel in the City of Little Rock. SECTION 4. There is hereby appropriated the sum of Three Thousand Five Hundred and No /100 Dollars ($3,500.00) from the City of Little Rock Street Right -of -way Fund, Project 1- Expressway, for the purposes set forth in the above sections hereof. SECTION 5. It is hereby found by the Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock that traffic conditions within the City are congested and coo _. 3 F- 3 -2- dangerous to the lives and property of its citizens; that express- ways are needed and that this ordinance is necessary to provide for the immediate acquisition of right -of -way for such purposes; and it is further found that the price established for this parcel to be acquired is advantageous to the City and that the acquisition of said parcel should be made immediately; now therefore, an emergency is hereby de- clared to exist and this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage.
