AN ORDINANCE CONDEMNING CERTAIN PARCELS OF REAL
PROPERTY WITHIN THE PROPOSED EAST -WEST EXPRESSWAY
TO BE USED FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCTING AN
EXPRESSWAY AND RELATED DRAINAGE FACILITIES;
DIRECTING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO INSTITUTE PROPER
CONDEMNATION PROCEEDINGS TO CARRY OUT THE INTENT
AND PURPOSES HEREOF; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City of Little Rock does hereby condemn
for street right -of -way and drainage facilities the following
described parcels of real property situated in the City of
Little Rock, Arkansas:
1. A parcel of land situated in Section 6, Township 1
North, Range 12 West, City of Little Rock, Pulaski
County, Arkansas, more particularly described as
follows: Part of Lot 2, Block 3, Perry Heights
Addition to the City of Little Rock, Beginning at
the Northeast corner of Lot 2, thence South 1 24'55"
West along east property line a distance of 46.80 feet
to a point, thence North 87013105" West a distance of
14.50 feet to a point, thence North 0050'05" West a

The aforesaid properties are necessary to be utilized in
the construction and improving of an expressway in the City of
Little Rock and to provide for necessary storm drainage in rela-
tion thereto and for other related uses.
SECTION 2. The City Attorney is hereby authorized and
directed to file in the proper Courts proceedings for the con-
demnation of the properties described in Section 1 hereof and to
secure an Order of such Court allowing the City to take immediate
possession of the properties described upon its posting bond in an
amount to be determined by the Court and to do any and all other
things reasonably necessary in obtaining immediate possession of
said properties.
SECTION 3. Whereas the condition of thoroughfares and
required traffic facilities for East -West traffic within the
City of Little Rock are inadequate to sustain the flow of traffic
within this City, thereby causing congestion of traffic on the
existing streets and whereas the proposed East -West Expressway is
designed to relieve the aforesaid congestion of vehicular traffic,
thereby enhancing the welfare, health and safety of the citizens

of this City; now, therefore, an emergency is hereby found to
exist and this ordinance being necessary in the implementation
and construction of adequate facilities for East -West traffic,
the same shall upon its passage and approval become immediately
effective.
