AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING
IZARD STREET BETWEEN LaHARPE BOULEVARD AND WEST
MARKHAM STREET, AND A PORTION OF THE EAST -WEST
ALLEY LOCATED WITHIN BLOCK 2772 ORIGINAL CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, BETWEEN IZARD AND CHESTER STREETS,
IN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
WHEREAS, a Petition was duly filed by the Little Rock
School District of Pulaski County, Arkansas, Marie W. Linder and
Irene Hargett Vaughn, with the Board of Directors of the City
of Little Rock, Arkansas, asking the Board of Directors to
vacate, abandon and close Izard Street between LaHarpe Boulevard
and West Markham Street, and a portion of the East -West alley
located within Block 277, Original City of Little Rock, between
Izard and Chester Streets, in the City of Little Rock, Arkansas,
same being more particularly described in said Petition and
hereafter; and
WHEREAS, after due notice as required by law, the Board of
Directors has, at the time and place mentioned in said Notice,
heard all persons desiring to be heard on the question and has
ascertained that Izard Street between LaHarpe Boulevard and West
Markham Street, and a portion of the East -West alley located
within Block 277, Original City of Little Rack, between Izard
and Chester Streets, in the City of Little Rock,Arkansas, are
no longer needed or required for corporate purposes or for use
by the general public and adjoining owners in that other streets
and alleys are available and used for these purposes, that Petition-
ers, Little Rock School District, Marie W. Linder and Irene Hargett
Vaughn are the only abutting landowners adjoining Izard Street

between LaHarpe Boulevard and West Markham Street, and a
portion of the East -West alley located within Block 277,
Original City of Little Rock, between Izard and Chester Streets
to be vacated, and accordingly all abutting landowners have
consented to such abandonment, and that the public interest and
welfare will not be adversely affected by the abandonment thereof;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The City of Little Rock, Arkansas, hereby
releases, vacates and abandons all its rights, together with
the rights of the public generally, in and to Izard Street
between LaHarpe Boulevard and West Markham Street, and a portion
of the East -West alley located within Block 277, Original City
of Little Rock, between Izard and Chester Streets, more partic-
ularly described as follows:
Izard Street located South of the South right -of -way
line of LaHarpe Boulevard and North of the North
right -of -way line of West Markham Street in the City
of Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas, more partic-
ularly described as follows:
Beginning at the Southeast corner of Lot 12, Block
277, Original City of Little Rock, said corner being
the point of intersection of the West right -of -way
line of Izard Street and the North right -of -way line
of West Markham Street; thence North along the West
right -of -way line of Izard Street to its point of
intersection with the South right -of -way line of
LaHarpe Boulevard; thence East along the South right -
of -way line of LaHarpe Boulevard to its point of
intersection with the East right -of -way line of Izard
Street; thence South along the East right-cf -way line
of Izard Street to the Southwest corner of Lot 7,
Block 139, Original City of Little Rock, said point
being the point of intersection of the East right -of-
way line of Izard Street and the North right -of -way
line of West Markham Street; thence West to the point
of beginning.

A portion of the East -West alley located South of
Lot 1 and the East Half of Lot 2, Block 277, Original
City of Little Rock, and North of Lot 12 and the
East Half of Lot 11, Block 277, Original City of
Little Rock, being the East 75 feet of said East -West
alley, more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the Northeast corner of Lot 12, Block
277, Original City of Little Rock, being the point of
intersection of the South right -of -way line of said
East -West alley and the West right -of -way line of
Izard Street; thence West along the South right -of -way
line of said East -West alley 75 feet to the Northwest
corner of the East Half of Lot 11, Block 277, Original
City of Little Rock; thence North to the point of
intersection of the North right -of -way line of said
East -West alley and the West boundary line of the East
Half of Lot 2, Block 277, Original City of Little Rock;
thence East along the North right -of -way line of said
East -West alley 75 feet to the Southeast corner of
Lot 1, Block 277, Original City of Little Rock; thence
South along the West right -of -way line of Izard Street
to the point of beginning;
and the ownership thereof shall vest in Petitioners as the sole
abutting owners thereof, Petition9r, Little Rock School District,
to be vested title to the East one -half (Ek) of Izard Street
located adjacent to the South 50 feet of Lot 6 and all of Lot 7,
Block 139, Origonal City of Little Rock; Petitioner, Marie W.
Linder, to be vested title to the West one -half (Wk) of Izard
Street adjacent to the East Half (Ek) of Lot 11 and all of
Lot 12, Block 277, Original City of Little Rock; and Petitioner,
Irene Hargett Vaughn, to be vested title to the West One -half
(Wk) of Izard Street adjacent to the South 50 feet of Lot 1 and
South 50 feet of East 40 feet of Lot 2, Block 277, Original City
of Little Rock; and Petitioner, Marie W. Linder, to be vested
title to the South Half (A) of said closed alley located in
Block 277, Original City of Little Rock, and Petitioner, Irene
Hargett Vaughn, to be vested title to the North Half (Nk) of

said closed East -West alley located in Block 2773, Original
City of Little Rock.
Section 2. The rights now held by any public utility
company, under the laws of the State of Arkansas or under grants
heretofore made by the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, to use
Izard Street between LaHarpe Boulevard and West Markham Street,
ands portion of the East -West alley located within Block 277,
Original City of Little Rock, between Izard and Chester Streets,
as described in Section 1 above, for the location andoperation
of lines and facilities for the furnishing of public utility
services, shall not be abrogated, diminished or changed by the
enactment of this Ordinance, and utility easements now in effect
are specifically excepted from this closing.
Section 3. A copy of this Ordinance, duly certified by the
City Clerk, shall be filed in the office of the Recorder of
Pulaski County, Arkansas, and recorded in the deed records of
said County.
Section 4. all ordinances or portions of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
