AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND ABANDONING IOWA AVENUE DESCRIBED
HEREIN AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, a petition was duly filed with the BQayd of Directors of the City of Little
Rock, Arkansas, on the 14th day of May, 1965, asking the Board of Directors to vacate,
discontinue and abandon Iowa Avenue described in said petition and hereinafter described;
WHEREAS, after due notices as required by law, the Board of Directors has, at the time
and place mentioned in the notice, heard all persons desiring to be heard on the question
and has ascertained: that no part of said street to be vacated has been actually used by the
public or by anyone as a street at any time during the past ten years, no part thereof having
ever been opened or used as a street or thoroughfare; that said street to be vacated hereto-
fore dedicated to the public use as a street lies wholly within the corporate limits of the
City of Little Rock, Arkansas; that all the owners of the property abutting upon the street
to be vacated, discontinued and abandoned have filed with the Board of Directors their
written consent to such abandonment; that no part of said street to be vacated is required
or needed for corporate purposes or as a street by the public generally or by anyone; and,
that public interest or welfare will not be adversely affected by the abandonment of said
street.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The City of Little Rock, Arkansas, hereby releases, vacates, discontinues
and abandons all of its rights, together with the rights of the public generally in and to the
street designated as follows:
Iowa Avenue (twenty feet in width) extending from the west line of Florida Avenue
(being the east line, extended northerly, of Lot 1, Block 1, RIFFEL & RHOTON'S
FOREST PARK HIGHLAND ADDITION to Little Rock) westerly to Arkansas State
Highway No. 10.
Section 2. A copy of this ordinance duly certified by the City Clerk shall be filed in the
Office of the Recorder of Pulaski County, Arkansas, and recorded in the deed records of
said County.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
