HomeMy WebLinkAbout11516- h r- N N N a) U c c ro 0 A b Q) ro c a) F ORDINANCE N0. 11,516 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 7 -32 OF THE CODE OF OR- DINANCES OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY FOR LATE LICENSING OF DOGS AND FOR INTERFERING WITH ANIMAL CONTROL WORKERS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, the existing Ordinance of this City does not clearly provide a penalty for failure to vaccinate and license dogs within the time established within the Code; and, WHEREAS, certain situations have substantially interfered with the pursuit of duty by the Animal Control Workers of this City; and, WHEREAS, in order to clarify the deficiencies in existing law in both respects; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. Section 7 -32 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, entitled "Penalties and Fines," is hereby amended to read as follows: "SECTION 7 -32. Penalties and Fines. (a) The annual license fee as provided for in Section 7 -19 hereof shall be increased to Eight Dollars ($5.00) for all dogs which were required to have been vaccinated and licensed on June 1 of any year but which shall have remained unlicensed and unvaccinated after such date. The additional licensing fee for late licensing shall be collected in the same manner as provided in Section 7 -19 hereof. (b) Any person who shall interfere with any animal control worker by use of force, trickery, or deceit, or who shall threaten use of force or otherwise intimidate or attempt to intimidate any animal control worker who may be carrying out or attempting to carry out his normal and reasonable duties hereunder, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and, upon conviction thereof, shall be fined as provided in this section. opp - Cf- d a -,4 - 2 - (c) Any person violating any portion of this article shall be deemed guilty of a middemeanor, and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by assessment of a fine of not less than Five Dollars ($5.00) nor in excess of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00)."
