HomeMy WebLinkAbout117741 ORDINANCE NO. 11,774 AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $57,000.00 FROM STREET RIGHT -OF -WAY FUND- PROJECT 1 (EAST -WEST EXPRESSWAY) FOR RIGHT -OF- WAY; PROVIDING FOR THE PURCHASE OF A CERTAIN PARCEL OF LAND; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to acquire a certain Parcel of land within the con- templated East-West Expressway as hereinafter set forth and identified by Parcel number. The full legal description of this Parcel and an appraisal approved by the Bureau of Public Roads is now and shall hereafter remain on file in the office of the Real - Estate Department in the City of Little Rock, Arkansas. SECTION 2. The Parcel which the City Manager is here- by authorized and directed to acquire, and the approved purchase price thereof, is as follows: 111ARCEL NUMBER APPROVED PURCHASE PRICE 236 $57,000.00 SECTION 3. The City Manager and Director of Finance are hereby authorized to pay by warrant of the City of Little Rock the above purchase price for the respective parcel to the person or persons entitled thereto according to the opinion of the City Attorney, so as to vest full legal title to the parcel in the City of Little Rock. SECTION 4. There is hereby appropriated the sum of Fifty -Seven Thousand and no /100 Dollars ($57,000.00) from the City of Little Rock Street Right -of -Way Fund, Project 1 (East--;West Express- way), for the purposes set forth in the above sections hereof. SECTION 5. It is hereby found by the Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock that traffic conditions within the City are congested and dangerous to the lives and property of its citizens; that expressways are needed, and that this ordinance is necessary to provide for the immediate acquisition of right -of -way for such pur- poses; and it is further found that the acquisition of said parcels cp'.4``u 0_-13 -2- should be made immediately, and that the price established for the parcels to be acquired is advantageous to the City; now, therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
