HomeMy WebLinkAbout11690r ORDINANCE NO. 11,690 AN ORDINANCE CONDEMNING CERTAIN PARCELS OF REAL PROPERTY LOCATED IN PULASKI COUNTY, ARKANSAS, TO BE USED FOR THE PURPOSES OF CONSTRUCTING A PORT, ESTABLISHING AN INDUSTRIAL PARK AND FOR RELATED FACILITIES; AND DIRECTING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO BRING CONDEMNATION PROCEEDINGS AGAINST SAID PARCELS OF REAL PROPERTY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. The following described parcels of real property situated in Pulaski County, Arkansas, are hereby condemned for the purposes of constructing a port, estab- lishing an industrial park and for related facilities and the City Attorney is hereby ordered and directed to file in the proper courts condemnation proceedings against the following described parcels of real property situated in Pulaski County, Arkansas: A parcel of land situated in Sections 9, 10 and 15, Township 1 North, Range 11 West; all lying South of the Arkansas River and East of Fourche Bayou, Pulaski County, Arkansas, and more particu- larly described as follows: Commencing at the Southwest corner of the SE'k, Section 15, T -1 -N, R -11 -W, thence Northerly along the West line of said SE'k. Section 15, 1808.12 feet to point of beginning. Said point being on the centerline of Fourche Bayou; thence deflect 36039' right, 2,356 feet to the Ordinary High Water line of the Arkansas River; thence North- westerly along the Ordinary High Water line of the Arkansas River to the intersection of the West line of the SE'k, Section 9, T -1 -N, R -11 -W; thence Southerly along said West line, SEk Section 9 to the intersection of the Centerline of Fourche Bayou, said point being approximately 2,400 feet North of the Southeast corner of said SE'k, Section 9; thence Southeasterly along the centerline of Fourche Bayou to the point of beginning, and containing 151 acres, more or less. Said property is owned by W. H. Griffin and Wilsie Griffin, his wife. i 1 l r -2- The properties hereinabove described are necessary for the purpose of creating, constructing and developing a port facility and terminal and an industrial park and related facilities. SECTION 2. The City Attorney is further authorized to secure an Order of the Court allowing the City to take immediate possession of the properties hereinabove des- cribed upon the posting of a bond in an amount to be de- termined by the Court. The City Attorney is authorized to have posted on behalf of the City a bond in an amount to be determined by the Court pending final determination of the condemnation proceedings. SECTION 3.
