RESOLUTION NO. 11,837
3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE FOUR -WHEEL
5 DRIVE AND ONE TWO -WHEEL DRIVE BACKHOE FOR THE
6 PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

8 WHEREAS, the Public Works Department is in need of one four - wheel -drive
9 and one two- wheel -drive backhoes, and
10 WHEREAS, these backhoes are a critical component of the City's street and
11 drainage maintenance programs and will replace current 1989 and 1991 models, and
12 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock received bids under Bid #4284 for the
13 purchase of the backhoes, and the lowest responsible and responsive bid meeting
14 minimum specifications was received from Scott Construction Equipment in the
15 amount of One Hundred Twenty -one Thousand, Nine Hundred Ninety -three and
16 no /100 Dollars ($121,993.00).
17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
18 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
19 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter
20 into a contract for the purchase of two backhoes for the Public Works Department from
21 Scott Construction Equipment, for the amount of One Hundred Twenty -one Thousand,
22 Nine Hundred Ninety -three and no /100 Dollars ($121,993.00).
23 Section 2. Funds for this purchase are to be allocated from the 2004 Short Term
24 Financing Account and the Concrete Ramp Program Account #205 - 220 -T110- 7040 -10.
25 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence,
26 clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or

unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining
portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so
declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
resolution.
Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that
are inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent
of such inconsistency.
