AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECT-
ING THE SUBMISSION TO THE QUALIFIED
ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS, THE QUESTION OF THE ANNEX-
ATION TO THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS, OF CERTAIN LANDS LOCATED IN
PULASKI COUNTY, ARKANSAS, WHICH SAID
LANDS ARE IN AN AREA ADJOINING THE
SOUTH, EAST AND WEST BOUNDARIES OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, LYING
AND BEING SITUATED IN SECTIONS 24,
28, 31, 32, AND 33, TOWNSHIP 1 NORTH,
RANGE 12 WEST; SECTIONS 5, 8, 9, 10,
14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22,
AND 23, TOWNSHIP 1 NORTH, RANGE 11
WEST; SECTIONS 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, 15,
16, 22, 23, 25, 26, 34, 35, AND 36,
TOWNSHIP 1 NORTH, RANGE 13 WEST;

ATION. DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
SECTION 1. That certain real property hereinafter
described and which is located in Pulaski County, Arkansas,
and is adjacent and contiguous to the South, East and West
boundaries of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, and which lies
in Sections 24, 28, 31, 32, and 33, Township 1 North, Range
12 West; Sections 5, 8, 9, 10, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21,
22 and 23, Township 1 North, Range 11 West; Sections 3, 4, 5, 8,
9, 10, 15, 16, 22, 23, 25, 26, 34, 35, and 36, Township 1 North,
Range 13 West; Sections 1, 2, 3, 10, 11 and 12, Township 1
South, Range 13 West; Sections 4, 5, 6, and 7, Township 1 South,

Range 11 West; Sections 26 and 27, Township 1 South, Range
12 West; Sections 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 28, 32, 33 and 34,
Township 2 North, Range 13 West; containing 26.48 square
miles, more or less, has been improved by the erection and
occupancy of various residences, business, industrial and
other type structures and said territory should be annexed
to the said City of Little Rock for the best interests of
said territory and the best interest of Little Rock, and,
therefore, making it possible to protect said area from the
standpoint of peace, health, fire and safety hazards. That
said territory is more particularly described as follows:

SECTION 2. The question of the annexation of the herein-
above described property shall be submitted to the qualified
electors of the City of Little Rock at the next general election
which will be held November 8, 1966.
SECTION 3. In the event that a majority of the qualified
electors at the election mentioned in Section 2 of this Ordinance
approve the annexation to the City of Little Rock of the territory
described in Section 1 hereof, the City Manager and the City
Attorney are directed to take any and all appropriate steps
necessary to complete the annexation of said lands -.d territory, or
any part thereof, to the City of Little Rock, in conformity with
the provisions of Arkansas law.
SECTION 4. The establishment of boundaries to the
City of Little Rock and the bringing into the City of Little
Rock of the above described territory now lying beyond the
South, East and West boundaries of the City limits is
hereby found to be vital to the public peace, health, and
safety and an emergency is hereby declared to exist. Now, there-
fore this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage.
